Entries are limited to 40 spaces available and the deadline for parade entries is Monday, October 28th at 5pm. Only one entry per person or organization.

All entries will be reviewed and are not automatically approved.

Float height should not exceed 14'

NO throwing or handing out any items from your entry. This is for your safety and for the safety of our community.

Participants may not ride on the hoods of vehicles.

Alcoholic beverages are NOT allowed in the staging area or during the parade.

If you have children under 16 walking, you will have one chaperone for every 12 children.

No 18 wheelers allowed. Large floats will provide four (4) adults to walk alongside and maintain safety for the spectators.

Any livestock will require a member of your group to clean up after the animals.

Float riders should be loaded onto the floats by 8:30am. There is a designated drop-off area near staging. Those not checked in and in place by 8:30am will be assumed a no-show and will not be a part of the final script or judging form.

You will receive your number and map before the parade. Please place this number on the Driver's Side window or front right side of your float for the judges to see.

There will be a designated area for unloading. NO EARLY UNLOADING of passengers during the parade.

Drivers should keep a half-block between them and the next entry. Speed limit is 5 mph. All participants need to move at a slow pace for the audience and for judges.

Once participants are unloaded, drivers should relocate. Do NOT disassemble floats in the unloading area.

You will designate a group leader that must communicate these guidelines with all participants.

Only vehicles and floats registered in the parade will be allowed in the staging area. Participants must be dropped off or park around the location and walk to their designated staging area.

RELEASE OF RISK: *

In consideration of the services of the City of Buda's Parks and Recreation Department and the Greater Buda Chamber of Commerce, their agents, staff, volunteers, participants, employees and all other persons or entities acting in any capacity on their behalf (hereinafter collectively referred to as Buda PARD and GBCC), I hereby agree to release, indemnify and discharge Buda PARD on behalf of myself, my children, my parents, my heirs, assigns, personal representative and estate as follows: 1. I acknowledge that participating in the Buda Veterans Day Parade entails known and unanticipated risks that could result in physical or emotional injury, paralysis, death or damage to myself, to property or to third parties. I understand that such risks simply cannot be eliminated without jeopardizing the essential qualities of the activity. The risks include, among other things: leg injuries, arm injuries, head injuries and internal organ injuries; abrasions from falling or sliding; running out of control or beyond ones personal limits; the negligence of other players and participants including visitors, spectators and others that may be present; musculoskeletal injuries and/or over training; head injuries; or my own negligence. Furthermore, Buda PARD and GBCC employees and agents have difficult jobs to perform. They seek safety, but they are not infallible. They might be unaware of a participant’s fitness or abilities. They may give inadequate warnings or instructions and the equipment being used might malfunction. 2. I expressly agree and promise to accept and assume all of the risks existing in this activity. My participation in this activity is purely voluntary and I elect to participate in spite of the risks. 3. I hereby voluntarily release, forever discharge, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Buda PARD and GBCC from any and all claims, or causes of action, which are in any way connected with my participation in this activity or my use of Buda PARD’s and GBCC's equipment or facilities, including any such claims which allege negligent acts or omissions of Buda PARD and GBCC. 4. Should Buda PARD, GBCC or anyone acting on their behalf, be required to incur attorney’s fees and costs to enforce this agreement, I agree to indemnify and hold them harmless for all such fees and costs. 5. I certify that I have adequate insurance to cover any injury or damage I may cause or suffer while participating, or else I agree to bear the costs of such injury or damage myself. I further certify that I am willing to assume the risk of any medical or physical condition I may have. 6. In the event that I file a lawsuit against Buda PARD and GBCC, I agree to do so solely in the State of Texas, and I further agree that the substantive law of the State of Texas shall apply in that action without regard to the conflict of laws of that state. I agree that if any portion of this agreement is found to be void or unenforceable, the remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect. By signing this document, I acknowledge that if anyone is hurt or property is damaged during my participation in this activity, I may be found by a court of law to have waived my right to maintain a lawsuit against Buda PARD and GBCC on the basis of any claim from which I have released them herein. I have had sufficient opportunity to read this entire document. I have read and understood it, and I agree to be bound by its terms.

TERMS OF ACCEPTANCE *

I agree that I am 18 years old or above, or the legal guardian of any child under the age of 18 years old participating in this program or event. I agree that falsification of any information on this information/registration form may disqualify me or my child from this program or event. In consideration of the acceptance of my or my child's information/registration form for this program or event, I hereby release the CITY OF BUDA, BUDA PARKS and RECREATION DEPARTMENT and GREATER BUDA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, and their agents, employees, officers, and servants from any and all damages and injuries which may occur while I or my child participates in this program or event. I further certify that I have legal authority to execute this release on behalf of myself or my child. I also agree that I have received and read this information/registration form completely. I understand that the CITY OF BUDA PARD, GREATER BUDA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE or program/event staff have the authority to remove participants from the program/event without refund. I agree the CITY OF BUDA and GREATER BUDA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE may use photographs of me or my child to promote City of Buda, City of Buda Parks and Recreation Department and Greater Buda Chamber of Commerce programs and events. I agree that I have given my authorization for myself or my child to receive medical attention in case of injury or an emergency.
