Buda Launches Food Drive with a 12-Hour Live Stream Zoom-A-Thon

Due to high unemployment, businesses closing, reduction of workforces caused by COVID-19, 1 out of 4 people in this country do not have food-security. Local food banks and pantries are unable to keep up with the demand. The Buda area is no exception. We need to help our friends and neighbors get through this. Nobody should go without food.

The Buda Area Chamber of Commerce along with the Central Texas Veterans Center and other Buda organizations are having a Food Drive to help fill the gap. This Food -Drive is a little different than drives you may have seen in the past.

Using technology and creativity we are launching a live 12-Hour Zoom-A-Thon Food-Raiser. Much like the old Jerry Lewis Telethons, we will be streaming live, have entertainment, special guests, and call in lines. Since it is live no telling what may happen.

People can watch this Buda Zoom-A-Thon Food-Raiser on Facebook, YouTube, and the Chamber Website. Additional channels and outlets will be added as we get closer to the event.

Donations can be dropped off at the Central Texas Veterans Center at 100 Houston Street on December 5 between the hours of 12:00 pm and 12:00 am. For more information or sponsorship opportunities call the Buda Area Chamber of Commerce at (512) 295-9999 or email info@budachamber.com
