The Buda Area Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the local marketing group behind KyleBudaLocalDeals.com (KBLD) in a project that will spotlight local businesses – via video interviews broadcasted LIVE on Facebook and Youtube – that allow the business to “pull back the curtain” and show customers the faces and personalities behind their brands and storefronts.
“The Buda Area Chamber of Commerce is excited about this innovative program to highlight and showcase our Chamber members to the public,” noted John Hatch, BACC Board Chairman. “These videos will allow the public to see the people behind these companies and why people will want to buy their goods and services.”
The project, named The Chamber Spotlight Show, offers businesses a 7-10 minute video interview to talk about the uniqueness of what they do and how they do it by answering a series of insightful questions that showcase their business in its best light.
“We feel like this is a great opportunity for our members to showcase their businesses and get more people coming in their doors,” said Ken Higdon, BACC Executive Director.
“People do business with people – not necessarily with companies,” said Titos Menchaca, co-founder of KyleBudaLocalDeals.com (KBLD), who also serves as Executive Producer and host for the show. “Seeing the faces and hearing the voices of the folks who run your business instills an instant level of trust in your customers’ (and potential customers’) minds,” he continued, adding, “and the most powerful, cost-effective way to do that is through video.”
Social media video offers numerous advantages in reaching the modern shopper, including helping your customers understand your product or service easily, engaging casual buyers, and being mobile friendly, which is essential these days as more than 51% of all videos are played on mobile devices – and that number is continuing to skyrocket.
“At KBLD, our focus is on promoting the #buylocal / #shoplocal / #eatlocal initiative, since up to 80 cents out of every dollar spent locally stays local” said Menchaca. “So, looking for goods and services from businesses in Hays County before going outside of
our area can be a great impetus for the ‘rising tide that can raise all ships’, so to speak,” he added.
“You hear people talk about Buy Local. This program will encourage people to Buy Buda, as well as the surrounding areas, and get to know the people behind the businesses,” stated Higdon.
The program is available to all Chamber members. Any local business owner in Hays County, can see if your company qualifies for a spot in the Chamber Spotlight Show lineup by calling Titos @512-812-8878 or email email@example.com.
